About Us

The Idaho Falls Downtown Development Corporation (IFDDC)  is a non-profit 501(c) 6 Corporation that manages the downtown Idaho Falls Business Improvement District (BID) on behalf of the City of Idaho Falls. The mission of the IFDDC is to advance our historical downtown as the regional center for commerce, culture and leisure activities for residents and visitors.

How is the IFDDC Funded?

The budget is derived from mandatory BID assessments, events, sponsorships and grants.

What specifically does the IFDDC do?

The IFDDC organizes downtown events such as St. Paddy’s on Park, FallBrew, Find Santa’s Puppy for the kids, and the Tree Lighting Celebration. In addition, the IFDDC markets downtown events aimed at the retail sector such as First Thursday Gallery Walks and the Ladies Shopping Days in Octobe.

The IFDDC promotes downtown Idaho Falls with the Downtown Idaho Falls Tourism map, radio and print advertising throughout the year. IFDDC also offers a gift certificate program to promote shopping local and downtown. In addition, the IFDDC promotes downtown through social marketing on Facebook and Instagram.

The IFDDC manages the downtown sidewalks, private alley ways and 4 parking lots seven days a week. The IFDDC oversees roughly 100 hanging flower baskets and many ground flowerpots located throughout downtown and holiday decorations on over 90 decorative poles.

The IFDDC supports and maintains a web site located at www.downtownidahofalls.com and sends out a weekly email to members called The Downtowner. This has information about downtown happenings and communicates upcoming events to the community through newsletters. A monthly newsletter called First Thursday Downtowner is sent the first Thursday of each month.  The monthly newsletter includes updates from City Hall with messages from department directors and sometimes the Mayor along with other significant details to share to both educate and promote downtown Idaho Falls. Sign up for email updates here.

The IFDDC is recognized by Idaho Falls City Council as the primary advocate for downtown and IFDDC provides leadership for all issues and ideas that support downtown Idaho Falls.
