Idaho Falls Symphony – Experience the Planets with the Idaho National Laboratory

November 9 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

What’s interesting about this concert?
Many iconic movie soundtracks reference Mars: The Bringer of War. There’s even a story that’s floated around that George Lucas asked John Williams to make Darth Vader’s theme sound like Mars.
When Gustav Holst wrote The Planets, Pluto had not yet been discovered. Many people have attempted to compose a movement for the piece, but now that Pluto has been reclassified as a dwarf planet, Holst’s suite truly is complete.
The Idaho National Laboratory has made several contributions to space exploration, namely in working on batteries strong enough to go into outer space – as far as Pluto!
