Cultural District First Thursday Gallery Walks:
Join us for the First Thursday Gallery Walks from June-October!
Don’t miss these free events on the first Thursday of each month, June-October, from 5:00-8:00 pm. This is a social and cultural event that offers a visual buffet of works by artists from around the region and around the globe, along with free admission, refreshments, and live musicians performing in some of the locations. The participating galleries offer a diverse look at contemporary, emerging, and established artists working in a variety of mediums.
Don’t miss free tours of the historic Colonial Theater! Built in 1919, the theater is a gem that has a rich history. Tours start at 6:30pm, are about an hour long and will feature tidbits about the architecture, shows and stories about the Colonial Theater and the people who made it great. To attend, just meet the tour guide upstairs of the Willard Arts Center.

Alive at Five:
Held every Wednesday evening, starting the last week of May through mid-September each year, in historic downtown Idaho Falls. Socialize throughout the summer from 5 P.M. to 7:30 P.M at the Civitan Plaza – corner of Park Avenue and B’ Street. Music, fun, food & drinks. Brought to you by the Idaho Falls Civitan Club.

Allan Butler Memorial Twilight Criterium: (click to go to website)
The annual Allan Butler Memorial Twilight Criterium bike race – Saturday, June 29th, 2013 – Held in our Historic Downtown Idaho Falls. A criterium is a bicycle race where cyclists compete for the most laps around a closed course within a specified time limit. Kids ‘rides’ will begin at 3:00pm and adult races begin at 4:00pm.

4th of July Celebration:
After the parade join us downtown at Noon on Memorial Drive for the ‘Liberty Fest’ – great fun, food, games, live music, contests and activities the whole family can enjoy. Largest fireworks display west of the Mississippi begins at 10:00pm.
The Snake River Roaring Youth Jam:
The Snake River Roaring Youth Jam is held the second weekend in August – Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It is the biggest family arts festival ever to hit Idaho Falls. Organized by the Idaho Falls Arts Council, the “Youth Jam” is three fun filled days of art, theater and music for kids of all ages…and their families too! http://www.idahofallsarts.org/youth_jam.html

Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race:
The “Great Snake River Greenbelt Duck Race” is an annual event held in conjunction with the Youth Jam on the second Saturday in August and is sponsored by the Idaho Falls Rotary Club and has raised money to maintain and improve the Greenbelt. You can buy a duck, win some great prizes and support the greenbelt.

‘Christmas on the River’ Downtown Tree Lighting:
Held the first Saturday in December (December 7, 2013) at the Civitan Plaza (corner of park Ave and B Street), where the community sponsors live trees, the Civitan Club strings the trees full of lights, then the local elementary schools decorate the trees with their handmade ornaments. Horse drawn trolley rides, and carolers fill the air and ring in the spirit of Christmas in Historic Downtown. Click here to view a Christmas Lighting.
